Unit Description
The 171rst Armored Cavalry or "Nix's Armored Dragoons" are an armor-based mercenary unit of a long and battered standing. With its roots as an armored regiment in the original Lyran Alliance, the 171rst continues to honor those roots by only using combat vehicles, infantry, artillery, and Aerospace equipment to fill its ranks.

Using combined arms, mobility, a fair share of nasty tactics, a dash of daring, and a bit of luck; the 171rst Armored Cavalry is here to remind the MechWarriors of the Clans and Inner Sphere alike that BattleMechs may be the Kings of the Battlefield, but they are not invincible.

Unit Description
Formed on Outreach, in the 8 ball pool bar, having struggled with previous mercenary commands, Liam Mendel and Barry Hendrix set up their own unit using mechs taken from previous units and loans from the DMM. All Hussar units use heavy mechs, and their pilots are trained in hot dropping with jump jets and drop cradles to make them specialists in assault work. The 8th have enjoyed success in planetary invasions and many other theatre's of war.

With no particular politics as a majority in the unit, all employers are welcome and most missions accepted, however recent campaigns in the tikonov district have led them to upset both the capellans and Davions alike and are now looking for unaffiliated employers. The only jobs they will refuse are espionage and re-con missions as they are not equipped to deal with them.

Unit Description
From the Succession Wars to the Clan Invasion, from the FedCom Civil War to the current chaos of the 5th Succession War. Constant and increasingly escalating warfare destroyed worlds and killed billions. What many failed to account for, and was indeed ignored when reported, was that the years of fighting decimated something else. Something intangible - a soldier's soul. Most soldiers persevered, barely retaining their sanity by loosing themselves among their brethren and unit. Some commit suicide. Others flee, searching for a place to rediscover their direction, humanity and soul - or simply to escape from court martial charges of desertion, cowardice and mutiny.

A group of such warriors from all over the Inner Sphere and Periphery met on New Hedon, the capital of Herotitus and formed the unique and unconventional Black Stars mercenary command. Though technically a single command, the Black Stars operate like no other mercenary unit. It is basically a collective of small units ranging from individual soldiers, to an entire Battlemech lance or more. These small units sub-contract jobs from the Black Star leadership that runs the operations that is simply called the 'Cell'. Consisting of soldiers and sub-unit commanders who have stayed the longest with the Black Stars, the 'Cell' negotiates all contracts after filtering through suitable ones and getting a majority vote from the current sub-contracted units.

The Black Stars make no preference for their recruitment. They would just as readily hire a retired Colonel from the AFFS as they would a washed out Periphery Mechjock seeking to escape gambling debts. There have been been cases of former Word of Blake soldiers fighting alongside former ComGuards within the unit. The Black Stars offer autonomy and a safe haven to individuals in the very eye of the turmoil in the current universe. The founding members of the Black Stars decided to gave the fragmented members of the unit at least a passing sense of unity and belonging by deciding on a simple black star outline as the unit insignia. It also reflected the fact that the unit's loyalty was to itself, which may change from battle to battle hence the preclusion of a traditional 'House' or 'Unit' colours. It may also be noted that being a simple to spray and/or stencil on design, a new unit sub-contracting under the Black Stars can put up the small logo quickly, and remove them just as easily when they inevitably decide to leave. However, as long as one is a member of the Black Stars, the unit always takes care of their own.

With uncountable number of sub-units signing up and leaving, below are the currently active sub-unit commands enrolled under the Black Star banner:

Sharp Shooters: a tank unit led by Zhao Zi Long, the current nominated representative for the Black Stars since 3078, the Shooters possesses of two reinforced companies of C3 linked Vampire medium OmniTanks, supported by a pair of Fensalir WiGEs. Badger tracked IFVs support Level Is of Battle Armour troops armed with Demon series suits, while a platoon each of Nighthawk and Tornado PA troopers provide further flexibility to the sub-unit.

Trouble Inc.: one of the last remaining founding sub-units next to Zhao's Sharp Shooters, Trouble Inc. had grown massively since those decade ago, although the unit still maintained its focus on its large VTOL fleet. At the peak of its strength, Trouble Inc. could boast of running some of the heaviest Battle Armour suits available, and can also currently lay claim to having a full star of Clan tech 'Mechs within its ranks. Unfortunately, Trouble Inc. has recently been dissolved, breaking up into several smaller units, which went their separate ways. Colonel James Lockheart has been appointed as the Commander of Pharos Station, the Black Stars' Snowden orbital Mining Station.

The Risen: Legate Gaius Marius who currently leads The Risen once commanded the Mortuus Legio Victrix. The latter was a strange, and some say downright eerie unit said to be of Marian origin, where every single piece of equipment, from Battle Armour, to vehicles, to BattleMech and aerospace fighters were chosen for one reason above all others - speed. When Marius was out injured, Legio politics saw him lose his place as the sub-unit's leader. Rethinking how his new unit should be shaped, the Marian formed the Risen, an appropriately christened unit that literally rose from the ashes.

Taking a totally different direction as his former unit, all the Risen's military hardware spots plasma rifle, further supported by inferno missile fed SRM launchers.

Storm Riders: It was once declared by one of ancient Terra's leader that Artillery is "the God of War". The Storm Riders certainly seem to adhere to that as a unit founding policy, specializing in providing artillery support by deploying a lance of Onager artillery vehicles to deliver its main punch. However, the unit has since swelled its ranks with a short lance of non-artillery BattleMechs.

Bloody Marauders: the Marauders are another indication of how far the Black Stars had come from its rag tag beginnings. Previously filled with sub-units that possessed little, or no BattleMechs, the Black Stars Mercenary Command now see more BattleMech centric units like the Bloody Marauders flying their colours. The Marauders are a hard-hitting, fast response and scout/recon unit. It is of reinforced 'Mech battalion strength supported by a Wing of ASF plus considerable combat and support vehicles, Battle Armour and infantry. The Marauders also stand apart from others due to them consisting of quite a large number of Clanners compared to most other units, with their unique mix of Clan and Inner Sphere styled formation reflecting that fact.

Celestyna's Winged Legionnaires: one of the newest sub-units to join the Black Stars, the Legionnaires were founded on Herotitus with the majority of the unit being former Confederated Majestracy Armed Forces solders. The current CO Karen Celestyna intends to set up a couple of combined-arms assault companies while searching for information relating to where her brother was taken by Taurian forces when they briefly took the ConMag system of Herotitus.

Glengarry Independents: Led by John Kelly, a former Captain from the famed Hellstorm Hussars Mercenary Regiment, the Independents started off with virtually zero hardware when they left their homeworld. The unit has picked up more personnel and equipment, first operating together with the Black Stars on the ConMag Periphery world of Huanghuadian, before eventually joining the mercenary command as one of its sub-units. Kelly intends to grow his fledgling unit to a full 'Mech company with armour, mechanised infantry and support.

They are an interesting bunch, as they are a good combination of speed, firepower and staying power. From Michael's days in the LCAF his original lance in the Furillo BPM have joined him, with two of them assuming lance command positions, though they have completely different mechs than they previously had.

Built from the remains of the Grenadiers, the Blood Angels are out for blood. Jack Ledger the XO of the Grenadiers together with surviving members of the Grenadiers set out to build a new unit. Using salvaged equipment and money from several loans they were able to put a unit together.

The Blood Angels are built around speed. Striking fast and hard. Specializing in Recon, Raid, and Spec Ops missions they are ready to make a name for themselves.

The name Blood Angels was given them not by themselves but by those they fought ‘mock’ battles against. Descending from the sky like angels of light but hitting hard. The blood part came from their mechs’ paint color, blood red.

Captain Montae Devillar's every word and action tells those under her command she will always do what is best for the company — and the Irregulars as a whole, when she acts as senior commander— regardless of the consequences. This trait was clearly seen when she made the fateful decision to order all Irregular troopers home, splitting from the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces. This ‘bad girl’ attitude fits the company to a tee, earning her an almost fanatical devotion from her troops. The Bad Boys are wild and unpredictable, allowing them to seize the initiative more often than not; when you run against them, you never know what tactics they’ll bring to bear. The Blue Lotus Irregulars simply refuse to leave the field of battle under any circumstances other than victory; a tenacity which has allowed them to snatch victory from defeat many times, but usually at a high cost in equipment and personnel. The Irregulars are devoted to its officer corps, particularly its commander, Montae Devillar. As such, even when a commander has fallen, they will not leave her behind on the field of battle.

Unit Description
The Cuirassiers are a newly formed unit hailing primarily from the Lyran Alliance, but drawing ex-SLDF personnel aswell. The unit is focused on a balanced, combined arms approach to combat, drawing heavily from the Grey Death Legion tactical doctrine, aswell as the AFFS organizational style.

Several of the unit's officers served in Operation Lorelai against Clan Jade Falcon, and the unit almost exclusively hires veterans of campaigns against the Clans. This gives them an excellent overall skillset, and ensures that the unit is capable of taking anti-Clan contracts when they arise. The unit tries to hire officers, to ensure there is always command talent on hand for expansion after a big contract comes through.

The Crimson Legion is a Mercenary combined arms Battalion registered with the DMM. We are equipped to handle missions with multiple roles from Garrison Duty to Objective Raids. We employ tactics from full out frontal assaults to slipping in the back door quietly and surprising our opponents. Whatever tactical situation is required for a mission, the Crimson Legion can meet that need, and if called for, we are able to quickly change and adapt to new mission objectives and tactical needs. Curled up on her side on the bed, Tatiana sighed in contentment. It felt nice to just lie down and do absolutely nothing. Stripped down to her tank top and panties, she enjoyed the cool air against her bare skin. Despite knowing there was work to do, she needed to rest, something she'd been telling herself for the past few days, but ignoring it repeatedly. Today reminded her that overworking leads to stress build-up, followed by a very exhausting crash.

At least she had vented some of that stress this morning; even if it had pissed off the captain. At least now Tobias would deal with them, instead of her.

Lightly fiddling her navel piercing, she quietly asked aloud, "Did I do the right thing?" A 15th birthday gift from her late mother, it was one of the few trinkets that had remained intact. Sadly, her question received no answer.

The return of the 7th Cavalry to service was a surprise to many as combat took it's toll on many. Many had thought the 7th had finally went into history.

Eiriksen's Huscarls started life as a revolutionary force on the former Rasalhague planet of Radje. Driven off from their home world by the Ghost Bear forces, the Huscarls now find themselves making home on their dropship “Tyr's Sword”.

Forced into Mercenary work to survive, the Huscarls are known to be a grim and unyielding group who's determination has won them many a battle where other mercenaries would have simply given up.

Each Huscarl has a knot work tattoo on their arm that they add to for each mission they complete. The Tattoos start from the bearers wrist and ascend up their arm. Eiriksen and the other original members tattoos now reach up past their shoulders.

Formed in late 3083, following the Clan invasion of the Federated Sun's Outback and the start of the 5th Succession War, Gerbik's Grenadiers are amongst the new kids on the block of the mercenary trade. Commanded by Captain Anthony Gerbik, a nine-year veteran of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns, the Grenadiers are led by a man who earned his knowledge and experience in the field of battle, rather than in the classroom.

Armed with a company of venerable BattleMechs from amongst those used to fight back the Clan invasion of the Outback, the Grenadiers are not a force to be taken lightly, despite their small size. Along with their ground forces, the Grenadiers have a pair of aerospace fighters to provide the unit with much needed air support. With their current hardware, the Grenadiers strive to be flexible in all situations, able to change and morph their tactics to best suit the situation.

From the ashes of several fallen mercenary commands, the Hellstorm Hussars Mercenary Command formed on Terra February 22nd, 3074, and quickly earned an exemplary reputation and name of their own. What began with a heroic victory over the superior hardware fielded by the Keleric's Crushers Mercenary battalion on Cerberus, Outworld's Alliance, formed the backbone of a unit that would rival, and now surpasses that unit they defeated. With that experience in hand, the Hellstorm Hussars continued to fight for the Star League, Federated Suns, Free World's League and Lyran Alliance against forces from three of Kerensky's finest the Ghost Bears, Star Adders and Jade Falcons among other opposition.

Now entering their sixth year of service the Hellstorm Hussars have established themselves as a crack Mercenary Regiment comprised of a strong, but balanced combat force. Currently, the unit fields two battalions of battlemechs, a mixed auxiliary battalion of armor, artillery, VTOLs, and support, a wing of aerospace fighters, and a newly formed mixed infantry battalion. The Hellstorm Hussars choice of reliable, well-armored designs carrying adequate maneuverability and weapon capabilities has proven favorable for Mercenary Unit. Their BattleMech Battalions field a range of companies: a pair of assault companies, two heavy cavalry companies, a strike company, and a recon and pursuit company. This arrangement gives the Hellstorm Hussars sufficient flexibility in speed, firepower, mobility, and maneuverability to handle many different types of missions. Thus the Hellstorm Hussar's are uniquely equipped for reconnaissance and objective raids, as well as combat campaigns. Like their namesake of long ago, the Hussars are known for their unpredictable, lightning quick strikes and fearless use of combat drop maneuvers to smash their enemies to dust. Come hell or high water, they get the job done.

The Hellstorm Hussars are lead by Colonel Timothy Maddox a veteran noted for his service with the 17th Avalon Hussars. As a commander, Colonel Timothy Maddox favors seizing and holding the initiative on the battlefield and is an aggressive strategist. Alongside him, Captain William Taggart, the recently assigned unit XO, is a veteran of fighting in the Free Rasalhague Republic against the Clans. As one of the founding members of the unit, Captain William Taggart has fought in nearly every major contract that the Hellstorm Hussars have completed. His leadership, tenacity, and fortitude first witnessed on Cerberus and Dehgolan have become traits embodied by the rank and file of the Hellstorm Hussars.

The Hellstorm Hussars, a veteran unit led by honorable men and women, favor contracts that display their worth on the field of honor with strength, courage of conviction, and intensity over contracts which might pit them against the general populace. Ingersoll's Armored Cavalry is a veteran mercenary battalion as of 3097. The House Davion Federated Freeman's Grizzled Veteran, Executive Officer, Gunther Price has taken over in his stead with the hope the Erik will one day regain consciousness. Unit Description
King's Lancers was formed from the merger of two commands, one new and one old. The new command is under the leadership of Ben King, a mercenary born in Lyran space but whose family has called the Capellan Confederation home for centuries. With him came warriors hailing from the Alliance as well as a number of Capellan patriots and family members whose families also originally hailed from Tikonov. The old command is what remains of the once prominent Royal Armored Lancers, now under the command of Karen Atreide. The two commanders saw fit to merge their fledgling commands in a bid to strengthen their numbers and increase their prospects. With King's recent influx of cash and Atreide's Capellan connections, the Lancers hope to find work in the Capellan Magistracy.

As of the end of 3084, King's Lancers have fought for House Liao both on New Aragon and on Tikonov. The Lancers fought alongside House Ijori and the 15th Dracon on New Aragon and successfully won the world away from House Davion. The Lancers then jumped to Tikonov as part of a Capellan invasion force intent on liberating that world from the Federated Suns; a battle they are still engaged in.

The Legio Invictus is an assault oriented mercenary unit founded in 3080 by Princeps Viktor-Agrippa Isidore Krieger, a patrician military scholar, former senator and an avid collector of battlemechs from Alphard who turned to the mercenary trade after stepping down from office and inheriting his grandfather’s collection of Star League era battlemechs. The unit is organized in the Marian style, utilizing Latin ranks and Hegemony organization, at the moment consisting of two centuries of five assault mechs supported by various aerospace and light elements.

Given its unique organization the Invictii indubitably specialize in heavy combat missions and sieges, reveling in the fiercest combat that the battlefield can offer yet approaching with the methodical precision of a surgeon. Whether on the offense or defense, the Invictii bring a thousand tons of war ending firepower to the field. Proud, skilled and stubborn as oxen with the might of gods at their finger tips, there is no fortress or enemy that they cannot conquer. The Legio are willing to take any contract that falls within their field of expertise, no matter how long the odds nor distasteful the duty, with the exception of those leveled against the Hegemony, so long as their employers are prompt in the delivery of their fees and terms; heaven help the employer who dares renege on their bargains.

Despite being only a newly formed unit and constituted mostly for the purpose of profit and its founder’s personal sense of adventure, the Legio Invictus is no less dedicated to the ideal of martial excellence. The unit will only accept the best and brightest into its ranks, putting potential recruits through an intense battery of exams that touch upon academic acumen and logical thought as much as physical fitness and combat marksmanship. Like himself, Princeps Krieger expects his subordinates to be as much scholars as practitioners of the art of war.

If rumors are to be believed, Mothers Own was founded just over two years ago with the break-up of the Black Banner pirate fleet near Port Krin in the Antallos System. An ill-favored banner that counted no small number of independent companies in its ranks and well known for conducting raids deep inside both the Draconis Combine and Federated Suns Territories.

A rather bloody affair Captain Morgann wasted no time in collecting those few who remained loyal to her banner, along with whatever else that could be managed and fled the Periphery to the inner Sphere were she used the remainder of her pooled finances and consolidated her interests in the purchase of assorted assets from a dozen worlds, and hiring on the assorted remnants of a number of Mercenary units whom had broken ties with past affiliations and were left abandon on outlying worlds.

Currently Mothers Own consists of little more than one full star Heavy and Medium weight ground mechs as well as a small host of additional support vehicles and armor she has acquired in route.

Under the Command of Shou-O Shen Morgann, A former Clan Snow Raven Omni-Mechwarrior and recognized widow of the late Colonel John Quincy Morgann, As yet the company itself has not officially seen the field and is considered by most as being untested. There are however some legal disputes to this claim given the background of both Captain Morgann and a number of those under her command.

The Rabid Wolves stem from the Periphery Nation, Outworlds Alliance's Intelligence Arm, so we will be avid infiltrators, assassins, saboteurs, terrorist, cryptographers, demolition experts, and even murders.

We are a Battle Armor eccentric Battalion based on Stealth, Espionage, and Infiltration Tactics. We have only two lances of 'Mechs; one light, one medium, all geared to supporting our Battle Armor. We are a full platoon of Mechanized Battle Armor strong and two Special Forces Platoons of jump infantry supported by two points of ProtoMechs, ferried to and from target world aboard six modified Caerleons. We do however, have a four DropShips; 2 Unions, that have been modified to carry four Small Crafts, four AeroSpace Fighters, four 'Mechs; and 2 Auroras, and our standard operating procedure will be to station one Union in the target world's orbit to bounce communications off of for communicating with our own sneak satellites, as well, we have our very own Liberty Class JumpShip.

In September of 3100 the Rabid Wolves 'acquired' an Eagle Class Frigate WarShip and enough AeroSpace Fighters to field an entire battalion of aerial combat units and salvaged a full company 'Mechs and thus are being acknowledged as an MRBC Regiment. Now boasting a DropShip complement totaling eight, they have a Leopard dedicated to carrying their four loader 'Mechs, their MFB, and the entire Technical staff and a Nekohono'o HQ that the Rabid Wolves can station in Orbit or on planet to conduct planet wide command and control operations. The Wolves have truly become a force to reckon with.

Unit Description
In 3076 Ravenna Nelson, veteran of both Task Force Serpent and the Fedcom Civil War, left the AFFS and entered the mercenary trade. Cutting her teeth as executive officer of the Shadow Lancers Mercenary Unit, she took the unit's unwanted and malcontents and forged them into a fighting force that proved itself against Clan Jade Falcon in multiple engagements. The unit known as Task Force Antares returned to Terra and was disbanded and stood down.

The story did not end there, however...

Rather than disband, the men and women of Task Force Antares shed their association with their former unit and became the Antarian Lancers under the command of their popular leader. Quickly earning a reputation for themselves fighting for Alys Marik in the FWL Civil War and later against not only Clan Cloud Cobra but also Clan Jade Falcon, the mercenary unit had evolved into something more than it had once been.

After being awarded the landhold of Offerman, and the title Baroness of Offerman by First Princess Yvonne Steiner-Davion, Ravenna disbanded the Antarian Lancers. In a speech to the assembled men and women of the command "We stand here in this place because of the sweat, blood and tears put forth by so many. When the Antarian Lancers first formed we were informed that we did not have what it took and yet after all the battles and strife here we are. We have evolved beyond the Lancers, and we are Legion. We are the Raven Legion and we are here to stay."

With those words, the Raven Legion was born. A fully formed combined arms brigade capable of handling nearly any mission that one can imagine. The Raven Legion has forged a path not only through the use of Battlemechs and Aerospace Fighters, but also through the employment of Special Operations and Covert Intelligence Gathering.

Fighting in the early stages of the 5th Succession War, the Raven Legion combated the Draconis Combine's invasion of the Federated Suns' Draconis March, and waged a successful campaign alongside the Hellstorm Hussars and FWLM against the rebel forces of Janos Marik II, with Nelson putting an end to the rebel leader's reign by her own hand.

In 3085, the Baroness of Offerman was awarded with the Title of Countess Seychelle by Captain General Alys Marik for her service to the realm, and a substantial landholding on the FWL world of Paradise.

Unit Description
Xavier Steele has been the commander of The Restless Souls Mercenary Unit since its inception in 3069. Although plagued by a shortage of 'MechWarriors, he has grown the unit into a full strenth Division with combined arms of tanks, infantry, VTOLs, Battle Armor, AeroSpace Fighters, BattleMechs as well as 'WarShips. The only unit to have its own JumpShip transportation. Some at the MRBC have suggested that he resign due to his getting along in years and allow new blood circulate through the ranks. This is unlikely to happen. Steele considers himself a mentor to all the Souls Colonels and Majors and so will stay on until he thinks one of his Senior Staff is ready to pick up the controls. "After that," as he always says, "I'll consider retirement."

Senior Lieutenant Brandi Rodriguez, the units former-Executive Officer, has turned around the moral of the unit from an all-time low to above average high. This has been attributed to her background, that having been a lowly grunt herself, and her unorthodox style of command. The XO position has hit some hard times. After Brandi redirected her efforts to Battalion Adjutant, Nariko Matsuhita was recalled, however; within four short months she was Court Marshaled. With the serious injury that was sustained by Brandi in combat she was no longer an option for the XO position. Nariko's replacement was Christian Levesque who within a month of becoming the Restless Souls Executive Officer accepted an alternate posting to a Davion Guard Unit. Then came one of the Soul's lieutenants, namely Alex McCray. Alex took the reins of the XO seat and seemed to grab on to it for the long haul. He impressed by the sheer hours he spent every day deep into paperwork or at the controls of his mech. He was the winning ticket, but Lady Luck had something else in store for the Restless Souls and Alex succumbed to a terrible disease that kept him away from his posting for a long time. Without an XO for a long time Steele had to replace Alex with the Chief Logistics Officer, Anakin, an 'adopted' Wolf clanner. Anakin became one of the first clanners to obtain a senior posting in a DMM unit. He 'rejuvenated' the unit with new training programs that were a reminder of the enemy that almost conquered the Inner Sphere years back. He was the XO for over eleven years, but opted out to join to rejoin a Clan unit. The newly promoted Field Marshall turned back to his old friend Alex McCray for yet another replacement.

Each Regiment of the Restless Souls excels in a particular art of warfare. Diablo Regiment, Foxtrot, can defend a piece of property like it was an entire Brigade all by itself, and is considered the Souls' defensive experts. The Assault Regiment, called Sledgehammer, does best on the attack, using its massive size and long range firepower to blast through enemy positions. The Recon Regiment, nicknamed Eagle Eye, is best at raiding and recon. The 'Hunter-Killer' Regiment, Heaven's Fist, is feared around the Inner Sphere for the notorius ability to root out and apprehend high profiled enemy units. The Strike Regiment, Manticore, has mastered the art of long range fire power from behind cover with the resources to bring well over 2,000 long range warheads in on a target in a single salvo. With the increased size to Brigade and then to Division the Regiments have grown in size and in numbers. Their AeroSpace Fighter Support now full Aero Regiments, Iron Falcon, can appear behind enemy lines at will and wreck havoc, even through the most heavily defended strong points. The Restless Souls Vehicle Regiment, commanded by Colonel Jason Fosdick.

The Restless Division consist of two BattleMech Regiments as well as an Infantry Regiment, a VTOL Regiment, a support Regiment, an AeroSpace Fighter Regiment, its DropShip Fleet, and JumpShip Armada, and four WarShips provide the Souls with the independence and staying power they need to stay viable.

With the acquisition of six Landholds, Landgrave of Baxter, Baron of Quentin, and the Duke of Broken Wheel, the Restless Souls now have several places to call home and places where they can leave their dependents and draw upon for new recruits, perform training, garner yearly revenue, and control three Military Hardware Depots across three Landholds. They have constructed the Regina Entrprise Orbital Factory and Shipyard around their primary Landhold, Quentin in the Federated Suns. And have repaired an place at the jumppoints of Quentin and Baxter fully armed Bastion class space stations protected by Caspar MK III System Defense Systems.

The Division as a whole is considered a leader when it comes to defense. The Restless Souls have an uncanny ability to use the terrain and resources around them to their best advantage. Enemies who think a field is empty find themselves shocked when Restless Souls 'Mechs suddenly spring up around them.

Unit Description
In their leather jackets, with their tattoos and their beards they might not look like the average paramilitary mercenary company but the Riders of the Damned possess the combined combat experience of a crack mech unit. One might assume from their outward appearance that they lack discipline and have problems with authority, but they elect their officers and follow a strict social code.

The Riders train more than the average mercenaries, on par with elite mech units from the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere. Their training is so frequent because they utilize a style of fighting called “initiative based tactics.” It’s an effective, if rare strategy, that relies on replacing constant commands from officers with decisive action and flawless team work.

The Riders of the Damned were founded by Kara Kilij, a former Capellan Death Commando and grandson of the famous Capellan General known as “the Black Sword.” After “leaving” military service (an action that was less than voluntary) he joined a club of rough and ready military veterans from the Taurian Concordat called the Damned.

After becoming a full member of the club, a so called “patch holder,” he used his military and political contacts within the Confederation to gain a Union Class Drop Ship and 12 battlemechs. Kilij gathered the best mech warriors and techs from within the Damned and offered them a job as an extension of their membership in the Damned. This gave rise to the mercenary company now known as Riders of the Damned.

The royal knights were created by the Pope of the new Avalon Catholic church on January 1 3093 after seeing the success of the Knights Defensor. The pope took this action seeing the need not only for the AFFC to protect not only what they recognized as military important but a greater need.
The Pope looked for honourable Mech warriors with a mercenary approach to protect the civilians, the churches and schools in that region but also to the civilians who worked in industries. The Pope looked For any member from the Cappellean March to answer the call since the horrors of the %th succession war had devastated a lot of homes and destruction with in it.
The royal knights has no chapter house to call there own yet but hoping when there reputation grows they well call one home soon.
The Royal knights believe in achieving and making sure there goals are met for the Pope and the March for honour and for the people.

Unit Description
The Royal Armored Lancers have a short but proud history. Formed in 3073 from the union of two groups of core personnel from two different units: Hayashi Killlian's "Killian's Psycho Killer" and Darien Atreides' "A.C.H. Security Group," the Royal Armored Lancers are filled with more of their fair-share of grizzled and seasoned veterans.

The two units backgrounds are extremely different. Hayashi Killian's old unit was formed after Hayashi successfully (though at a high cost) defended his homeworld of Sigurd against Clan Wolf. After his prior military actions and rebellion quellings on Sigurd, he left the planet to seek employment elsewhere, working for various Houses and minor entities of the Inner Sphere for about 20 years. KPK was successful, but never really received much attention.

After the FedCom Civil War, Darien "Archangel" Atreides, his wife, and a two friends started the A.C.H. Security Group, which eventually expanded to include two more of Atreides' friends and nearly 50 employees. Working within the Federated Suns, Capellan Confederation and Draconis Combine, the small security group performed VIP protection missions and small merchant defense runs with nothing more than a battlemech lance, an aerospace fighter, and a platoon of infantry.

Now over 6 years old, the Royal Armored Lancers are a combined-arms battalion. The Royal Armored Lancers as a whole specialize in urban warfare and security duty. Each lance of BattleMechs has its own specialty, and works together to fulfill their desired roles in battle. While the infantry unit is small, it is top-notch, and the BattleMech pilots are almost all combat veterans of at least two or more campaigns.

The Stewart Highlanders trace their heritage all the way back to Terra 12th century where the Stewart Clan began in the Highlands of Scotland. As man moved to the stars so did the Stewart Clan. Eventually ending up on Stewart in Free Worlds League.
Captain Caleb Daniel Wallace served the Free Worlds League as part of Stewart Dragoons. Over the years as the condition of the Dragoons faded, Wallace knew that he had to do something to make the name Stewart known far and wide. So was born the Stewart Highlanders Mercenary Unit.

Unit Description
The Emerald Falcons are a new front line unit put into service by Khan Dallas Pryde to show that there clan is not weak. The new unit is a trinary of mainly True born but mixed with a few free borns based off the falcon guards with some of the best troops graduating from there sibkos and training clusters.

The unit is highly different then any others in the use that it uses a lot of first generation omnimechs as well as Omni machines that have been salvaged from the battlefields that had been mothballed.

The desire and fierce determination that anything old is still useable even if it was captured from other clans has brought a bright spark to the unit. Not letting the old machines fool them they have been equipped with some of the latest technology putting this unit apart from others who use standard issued military grade technology. This unit wants to prove new and old can be combined to deadly effect.

Started in early 3090 the group is led by a growing ristar Star Captain Revenant Malthus who has just earned his blood name in a fierce trial of blood right. The Star Captain leads this unit by example in his King Fisher-X and a great lover of new technology as well as his personnel command star around him.

His second in command is a tried hard traditionalist and believes in the modern way of combat with might makes right.

Often the champions of House Davion, and the foes of Houses Kurita and Liao, Veen’s Irregulars reached battalion size in nine short years and earned its commanding officer two Landholds in the Federated Suns. In late 3088, their achievements were recognized and rewarded with elevation to House unit status, and the mercenary unit was absorbed into the Valexa PDZ.

The celebration was to be short lived, however, as the decision to leave mercenary life for a steady paycheck failed to sit well with all of the personnel under Count-Major Veens’ command. With a planetary assault of regiment-level strength en route to attack Veens' Irregulars positions on Bharat, close to sixty veteran personnel initiated a vote of no-confidence and staged a walk-out. Thus, the elements of Count-Major Veens' command with a more mercenary temperament struck out on their own, calling themselves simply ‘The Irregulars’.

Composed of veteran personnel well-trained in hit and run raid tactics and a mixed bag of specialties, the combined arms tactics of their parent unit suit The Irregulars well, and a number of employment offers have already been logged with the rogue unit despite their technical status as fugitives.

To plug the holes left by the pro-Veens camp, the Irregulars have taken on some new faces. New personnel and ideas maintain the reputation for unpredictability earned over the last nine years, and a new outlook toward potential employers make The Irregulars a company to watch.

The new unit sailed forth from their familiar ports in the Federated Suns to an uncertain future. After the incident on Bharat, the unit essentially disappeared for the better part of two months.

The DS /Fearless/ re-emerged in the yards of Mars in mid-September amid widespread rumors of closed-door judiciary meetings regarding the renegade vessel and her crew.

At about the same time, Former Veens' Irregulars officer-trainee and AeroJock Randal Steele arrived at Alice Springs' Castle Brian Complex with a set of legal but highly unusual data-work identifying him as the executive officer of 'The Irregulars' Mercenary Unit, a bonded agency of the Division of Mercenary Management.

Monday, 16th January 3089 [Dateline Fairfax Metroplex, Terra] AFFS Leftenant Hamilton Lennox, wanted for questioning in what has come to be called the 'Bharat Mutiny', and known associate of disgraced Outworlds Alliance officer Joshua Reese, has been retained on Mars today by agents of the MRBC's Office of Contractual Affairs. Leftenant Lennox allegedly faces charges of Mutiny and Grant Theft StarCraft. While some thirteen of Lennox' confederates have been found and identified, most of the rogue band that has come to be called simply, 'The Irregulars' is still at large.

When efforts were made to search the Alice Springs CBC for LTSG Steele and his cohort, it was revealed that they had left the complex for the jump point in mid-December, 3088.

Unit Description
Skarsson's Legion was founded by Sigismund Skarsson, ex-AFFS battalion commander from New Avalon, and members of his Command Lance from his AFFS service. The Legion started out with just over a lance's worth of battlemechs, but with investment captial coming from Skarsson himself, in the form of his recently deceased parents' life savings. He founded the unit to continue his military career, once he was honorably discharged from AFFS service. An honors graduate of the NAIS College of Military Studies, Skarsson is very adept when it comes to battlefield tactics at the Company and Battalion level, and has had an excellent education in Regimental-level strategic planning, although he has yet to be in a situation to put that training into practice.

A solid group of mechwarriors forms the core of the unit, many of them ex-AFFS senior NCOs and officers. Having a great deal of battlefield experiance, the unit tends to favor quality over quantity: if faced between 2 hiring and outfitting 2 veteran mechwarriors, versus hiring a lance of less experianced ones with their own equipment, the Legion will usually go for spending the extra C-bills to acquire the proven talent. Not to say they dont hire young, inexperianced warriors: they simply dont have a dedicated training staff as of yet, and therefore must ensure that what newbies they have are not so numerous as to seriously hamper the unit's operational abilities.

On the battlefield, Skarsson's legion is very free wheeling, with Sigismund's commanders being given more free reign than is enjoyed in many other mercenary units, and almost unheard of in House unit. The Legion's tactics vary from warrior to warrior, and considering the small size of the unit, there is very little specialization among the lances, although Skarsson's is universally assault mechs, making it the hammerblow of the unit currently.

The Legion has recently acquired it's own air support, in the form of 2 aerospace fighters, along with experienced pilots from the Lyran Alliance. The unit prefers it's aerospace assets like it prefers it's ground assets: bigger is better, experiance over potential.

Overall, the Legion is not equipped for hit-and-run, or fast pursuit type operations. With many of their machines weighing in over 55 tons, they prefer to use ambushing tactics, setting their machines up ahead of time and using their limited light mechs to lure enemy forces into traps, where the heavies can crush them. Skarsson is also quite adept at defensive battles, and has made a name for himself in a number of defensive contracts, and has also shown some aptitude with raids, although not as much as defensive or straight offensive missions.

The Triple Nickels are the descendents of the former 555th Calvary Brigade, once a combined arms Star League Defense Force unit. After the fall of the Star League, the 555th Calvary stayed in the Inner Sphere and went mercenary to try and uphold the standards and glories of the shattered Star League through their actions and behavior. After facing centuries of warfare in the Inner Sphere, the unit is a shadow of its former self.

The Triple Nickels of 3080 are a battered mercenary combined arms battalion trying to recover from the dubious mercies of their trade. Unit Description
The Veens Irregulars were founded After William Engaged a lance of Liao insurgents hit his home world. Engaging them until he was demeched in a Commando, giving the rest of the militia time to prepare. He was rewarded greatly for his commitment to saving the planet.

They are a rough unit that don't disengage until they win or die, surrender and retreat is never an option for this band of mercs. Never using overly conventional tactics, preferring to go by the seat of his pants the Irregulars enjoy the leeway the Major gives them out side of combat.

The unit will not take on any pro Liao missions, but will do almost any other mission for the right price. The unit has since started to prosper with Colonel Veens letting his lance commanders take thier lances in seperate directions for support and Styles of fighting.

With William's Adopted son starting missions of his own, after taking command of alpha company of first battalion Captain Lance seeks to make a name with in the unit.

Rising from the ashes of the Red Star Legion mercenary command, the Black Talons Phoenixes are one of the fastest rising young units in the Inner Sphere. Founded by Capt. Alexander McKay after the destruction of his previous unit, the Black Talons Phoenixes have grown steadily, in both size and reputation.

Originally a single company of 3025-era Battle Mechs purchased with what little funds McKay and the other members of the unit could scrounge together, the unit has since grown to nearly a regiment's worth of combined arms might. Currently comprised of three Battalions of Mech forces, a Reconnaissance Company, a Strike company, a Wing of Aerospace fighters (12), and a separate company of Battle Armor troops, the Black Talons Phoenixes can provide a solution to any type of contract or problem you may have.

The Black Talons Phoenixes are currently under the command of Colonel Lance McRaven, a veteran of numerous campaigns and contracts with Hansen's Roughriders, one of the premiere mercenary units the galaxy has ever known. The current executive officer, Lieutenant Colonel William "Billy" Boudreaux, joined the Black Talons as a cook, and not much is currently known about him.

Fresh from a contract with the Lyran Alliance, on Finmarck, in the Former Rim Worlds Republic, the Black Talons Phoenixes are currently working out a supplemental contract with the Lyran Alliance Ambassador, to move spinward, and to perform reconnaissance of the Clan Jade Falcon forces currently holding Hood IV, with a little more than a battalion of force, and transmit that information back to the Lyran Alliance. The rest of the unit is continuing to repair and refit, on Kowloon, in case of any further indiscretion on the Clan Jade Falcon's border with the Lyran Alliance. The enemy troop strength has been rumored to be at two clusters, but knowing the Clan Jade Falcon Touman, they are suspected to be Garrison and Solahma troops, not front line True Bloods.
