------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
For years the Rift Tiger enclave has had to be reliant on other sources to
provide military equipment for the clan. However in partnership with Offerman
Mech Works and Rico Heavy Industries the clan had the clan took its first
steps to improve its forces with the opening of the “RT Site A” mech
production complex after a period of twenty years of construction- most of the
delays coming from building the production processes used by the clans.

==Capabilities:==
Based off the Marauder battlemech, the Rift Tiger is a design meant to deal a
large amount of damage while at the same time being tough enough to take it.
Eschewing the idea of using a light engine, the lead scientist on the project
thinking that the resources would be better spent on an extra light engine for
a proper omnimech. The standard engine allows the mech to take punishment that
few mechs could ever withstand. However the mech was fitted with endo-steel
and ferro-fiberous armor to not only free up space for weapons, but be a test
bed for the zero-g production facilities to produce clan spec materials.

The overall looks of the mech are based off the marauder, and this was
deliberate as not only does it fit in with the Knight, but it is a message of
what the ultimate goal is, to Produce mechs like the timberwolf at this
facility.

The Armament allows the mech to be effective from distance as well as up
close. A pair of extended range ER PPCs make for a long distance sniping rifle
that has brought fear to many mechwarriors. Closing in on the mech will not
save a warrior as it carries six medium lasers as well as a pair of six tube
Streak short range missile launchers. The placement of the launcher on the
shoulder of the mech is not a coincidence either. For anti-infantry work the
mech munts a small pulse laser.

Eleven tons of armor protect the mech from incoming fire, it has been noted
that as the production processes are being worked on such as the leg actuators
has caused the leg armor to be relatively thin compare to other mechs of this
weight class.

Seventeen heat sinks installed in the mech can keep the mech cool- as long as
the pilot knows when to engage with an appropriate weapon. Firing all the
weapons at the same time is not advised in this mech as it can quickly lead to
a shut down.

==Deployment==
The mech has been built in limited numbers for testing, should tests be
successful the totem mech will go into full production.

I mostly like it, going for the low weight standard engine makes it feel more like an assault mech.

My only question is about the PPC, why in the centre and not on the left arm? Just feels kinda wrong to me.

I didn't notice that. It should be in the arm.

I like center torso because, Marauder.

But I will move it to the arm because it would be more clannish.

You could switch one or two of the ERMLs to the centre torso or head if you wanted to keep a centre-fire Marauder weapon.

Do the clans use much specialty ammo? If not, the SRM6 could be switched for a Streak-4 (I think the tonnage is about the same) for no real loss of firepower, and it would be in keeping with the clan policy of minimizing waste.

Otherwise, I kinda like it.

You should edit your fluff to fit the redesign. :) The variety of weapons is a bit of a jumble for my personal preferences, but that's entirely a me thing. Still, a good design.

Edited the design again, I looked at the design and the weapons selection looked too unclan like for a second line design, especially with the ultimate goal of producing a design like the Timberwolf.

I like the weapon edits. She's gonna be hot, but I like it.

when I saw 7 ERMLs I kind of frowned. I kind of feel if you go past 5 ERMLs the design begins to feel a little meh, but I can't think of any suggestions to replace 1 or 2 tons worth of lasers either :/
