Coupled with the Covid-19 chaos that's going on, you're gonna have to give the top management some time to get back to you.

Hmmmmm... I just realized I haven't been on these forums for YEARS before I started posting again. So, for the benefit of those who isn't too familiar with yours truly, a (not-so-)short introduction.

I've been with BTM for years. In fact, based on my old saved documents, I've been onboard since 2007! I was just fooling around one of the RPing threads on the Classic BattleTech (CBT) forums when someone lured me over. I can't remember who, but I think it was Tim (our current Director). Strangely, the first unit I signed up with was NOT his Hellstorm Hussars, but a unit called the Death Guards (whose MUCO was from the HH). I think it was because the Guards were a much smaller unit and... well, being a new-comer, I was intimidated by the very many experienced writers in the HH, especially since English isn't my native language.

As things moved along, I held the Death Guards along for a while when the MUCO disappeared, after which myself and 2 other forum members decided to create a unit that no-one else thought of doing back in those days - and thus was born the Aura Wings, the first ASF centric merc command.

As I got my feet wet over the years, I was fortunate enough to explore more ways to enjoy here on the forums. The first was, the creation of the only BTM canonized Periphery state(as far as I know), the Kingdom of Nibo.

The second, was of course the creation of the rather unique Black Stars Mercenary Collective, initially comprising of half a dozen of friends I brought over from the CBT forums, where each member runs his/her sub-unit like their own individual command, where any kind of background goes. Among a wide variety of sub-units, we've had a nearly all Clan set up, virtually all VTOL and infantry formation, even one that comprised of refugee WoB and Manei Domini (you can imagine the IC and OOC fun this and that all Clan unit had).

It has been fun writing and exchanging ideas, making friends here on BTM. Sadly, RL tends to hit you in the guts when you least expect it, and hit me it did. I had to drop in and out of BTM a couple of years back while my other members took over for a while, until they themselves had to leave due to THEIR RL issues. Thus did the Stars went into mothball.

And there you have it. I salute you if you actually read to this point (seriously!). Oh, and one last thing, throughout my B-tech RP-ing and table-top gaming, I've always preferred combat vees to 'Mechs. The new unit I'm going to start here MIGHT be the first unit NOT centred around vees and BA, but I can't be sure yet...

Welcome back Vampire! I bought several pieces of hardware from your unit over the years, and have enjoyed reading your exploits. I have been around since 2008, and got my start with the Antarian Lancers. From there I moved to the Shadow Lancers, and then tried my hand as a MUCO. And there in lies my tale.

This place still active at all? I got a group accepted and then I never followed through. But I came up with an interesting unit concept and it made me think about this place.

Sadly, most of the members haven't been turning up recently. There's discussions among those of us left to see how we could kick-start these forums again. Its always nice to see new/returning members!
