First of all, reputation is just what it means, standing, status, repute, etc. A unit must have a certain reputation in order to apply for any contract type. Reputation is gained by successfully completing contracts. Beside the positive reputation gained by a contract, a unit also receives a negative reputation with the enemy they are fighting with. The following table shows the gains and losses of reputation by contract type.

Type Working For Working Against
Static Defense +1 0
Territorial Campaign +2 -3
Combat Campaign +3 -2
Minor Raid +3 -1
Invasion +4 -3
Major Raid +4 -2
Black Market Minor +3 -3
Black Market Major +5 -5

Every Mercenary Unit begins on zero reputation score for all possible contractors and reputations increase or decrease from performing contracts for and against those contractors. A Mercenary Unit must have a certain level of reputation score to do certain contract types for the particular contractor. (If a contract expiration date is within 48 hours, all you need is a reputation of 1 with that employer to bid of any and all contract types)

The Overall Reputation will allow for discounts at the Military Hardware Brokerage for a percentage equal to the OR score. For Example: if a Mercenary Unit has a OR of 5, they would receive a discount of 5% on their purchases at MHB. (Maximum discount is 25%)

*Black Market & Supplemental contracts are not subjected to reputation limitations.
