Overview:
The Steele Dagger is a battle armor design created by the Periphery March Design Bureau. The firm has long had a relationship with General Motors' secondary plants on Quentin and Broken Wheel, so when the NAIS first started creating battle armor, the Design Bureau had access to prototypes that they could work from. Though it took almost ten years from the commencement of the program to a prototype, the PMDB created the Steele Dagger, which was based on a concept design that was geared towards the most powerful weapons systems possible.
The team still wanted mobility, however, so the Steele Dagger can muster up a respectable 36 km/h on the ground. The Steele Dagger lacks jump capability. Instead it uses a Battle Armor Myomer Booster to reach speeds of 36 km/h. An experiment by the PMDB, this suit is equipped with a Battle Armor Myomer Booster. To fit this system onto the chassis and maintain the same level of protection the engineers had to increase the suit's weight by 50%. The armor is where the Steele Dagger excels, having enough to stop a Clan grade ERPPC, the same amount as the venerable Kanazuchi. This armor, however, is improved stealth armor, so the Steele Dagger is a bit more difficult to target.

Capabilities:
The Steele Dagger comes equipped with a Heavy Support Laser mounted on the body, with a heavy machine guns underslung on each arm, while it has an Anti-Personnel Weapon Mount on the right. The other fixed weapon is an SRM-5 in the body, along with five shots, giving it remarkable staying power. The right arm mount can carry a variety of weapons, though a standard Restless Souls Issued Magna Laser Rifle is the most common, the weapons loadout giving the Steele Dagger a punch similar to (but far greater than) the Elemental battlesuit.
The Steele Dagger's primary anti-'Mech weaponry is a Short Range Missile launcher that can fire fivewarheads and has five reloads. Twin Heavy Machine Guns can make short work of infantry forces. In case a Steele Dagger Squads ends up in melee combat, the armor's left arm ends in Vibro-Claws that make mincemeat of flesh and armor alike. The Magnetic Clamps also allow the heavy suit to ride a variety of vehicles other than 'Mechs equipped with battle armor hand holds.

Variant: Spec Ops
This variant has had its battlefield endurance reduce and flexibility increased in favor of maximizing its mission profile. It mounts an SRM-3, a downgrade from the SRM-5, with only four shots, though that is still more ammunition than most battle armor with missiles carry. It looses the larger Heavy Support Laser in favor of the more compact ER Medium laser, down grades is machine guns from the heavy calibur to standard calibur, gives up 120kg of its improved stealth armor and swaps out its Vibro Claw for an armored glove.
What it does improve on is its movement profile. The addition of jump jets gives it 90 meters per a single bound. It adds a visual simple camo to its already potent Stealh Armor, and the Spec Ops Variant also called for an additional Squad member for command and communications requirements. The PMDB found that the additional squad member, well versed in command & communications, increased the average over all success rate of missions by a whopping 34%

Battle History:
Although the story has never been officially confirmed, nor denied for that matter, the first squad of Steele Daggers produced was assigned to the Command Regiment of the Restless Souls combined arms Mercenary Division stationed on Hazelhust.
Now on the border with the unstable Snow Raven/Outworls Alliance pact, the system is a target for marauding combat and pirate groups. One such raid was aimed at a supply cache at one of the more remote, and lightly defended, Soul‘s outposts. Unfortunately for the raiding party, a group of veteran Restless Souls, a company from the Command Regiment, including the Steele Dagger Squad, was on combat training in the area.
The small Snow Raven force, consisting solely of a medium ‘Mech star, was allowed to approach the base relatively unmolested. Believing the defenders to have been scared off through overwhelming force, the Star entered the base. Having used their stealth armour to hide themselves, the Steele Dagger Squad swarmed the last two ‘Mechs in line, two troopers per ‘Mech, and began systematically tearing them to pieces.
When the lead Snow Raven ‘Mechs turned to investigate, they exposed their thin rear armour to the remaining defenders, who subsequently opened fire from their hidden positions. Spooked, the Raven‘s immediately withdrew, leaving behind two ‘Mechs, one that fell to the Steele Dagger Squad and one to the regular troops.
Although one Steele Dagger was lost in the action, the suit acquitted itself admirably and, while the story is still unofficial, orders for more were immediately placed adding credence to the tale.
