One of the League’s youngest provinces, incorporated in 2941 by Samuel Marik, Ohrensen fought bitterly to maintain its independence. The result was a province culturally and politically related to nearby Zion (both regions being “liberated” in the same political gambit that centered on the defection of Vincente Sian-Marik from the Capellan Confederation to the FWL), but which retains control of its own political and economic affairs. As an added benefit, sundering the former Capellan worlds into competing provinces undermined Sian-Marik’s power base.

In 2941 agents operating on behalf of Captain-General Samuel Marik convinced Vincente Sian-Marik to sign a treaty with the Free Worlds League transferring his allegiance and those of the worlds he administered to the League. In addition to being the planetary administrator of Kyrkbacken, Ohrensen, Suzano, Ventabren and Zion, Sian-Marik was a distant relative of the Marik line; while the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces garrisons on the five worlds didn't try to resist the transfer of worlds, they did engage in widespread scorched-earth operations on each world to inflict as much damage as possible prior to the transfer.

As a consequence the acquisition of the five worlds saddled the Free Worlds League with a significant and expensive rebuilding programme. Occupied by League forces, the inhabitants of Ohrensen fought the FWLM forces for years to resist the incorporation. Culturally, Ohrensen has a great deal in common with Zion, but unlike that world Ohrensen was allowed to control its own economy and internal politics.

Brutalized by Capellan scorched-earth tactics during the secession period, when withdrawing CCAF forces razed almost a third of the towns on the main continent, Rossonia, Ohrensen received massive investment in the mid-30th century, though endemic corruption siphoned off much of the money that flowed into the region. The net result was a world (and province) with a functional industrial and economic infrastructure, but whose population subsisted in conditions well below the League norm. The criminal gangs that sprang up during this era came to dominate planetary politics on Ohrensen and neighboring Ventabren, though today these so-called firms hide their activities behind legitimate businesses.

Through divided by bitter infighting (which frequently leads to a high body count), these groups acknowledge an overlord, Director Loew, who serves as the de facto planetary and provincial leader. Loew’s enforcers maintain a semblance of order within the “thugocracy” (which the federal government regards as a civilian dictatorship), though recent years have seen growing conflict with Capellan criminal groups seeking to expand their operations into “traditional Capellan territory.” Only in the wilds of the Padderborn Highlands on Rossonia and on the wide-open continents of Ulm and Salva do the criminal gangs have no influence. Here, however, the gangs’ violence and intimidation give way to pure lawlessness that leads most farmers and miners to go about armed. The summary justice of these regions is a stark contrast to the peace-by-intimidation of “civilized” Ohrensen.

-The new Director of the planet is Mary Berkowitz -The leader of the planet's planetary police force is Chief Marshal Robert Stowes -The government has been reorganized, and the Triads are now cooperating under Mary Berkowitz's leadership,

Commander, you are on the cusp of history. Yours will be the initial forces of this Operation. Your forces will be unsupported on this operation so you will be required to make your own arrangements for insertion and extraction to and from the target world. All of our available transports are, how can I put this? Hmm. Our transports are otherwise deployed in the Celestial Wisdom’s five Commonalities. You will be remunerated for all of your travel expense. In lieu of ULTRA’s violation of the Star League Charter’s, Chapter VII, Article 40 with their Invasion of the Liao Commonality, you will be required to land on the world of Ohrensen and get an assessment of their Triad's might. You are not to engage any units near civilian settlements. You will receive the standard remuneration as well as standard salvage rights should you choose to undertake this operation.

Our current Intel indicates that the planet is not garrison by any FWL state sponsored units other than the Ohrensen Planetary Militia. We need your command to land on world to make contact with the unsavory elements of our Triad gangs to determine what support, if any, they are willing to commit to support a change in, uh hem, ‘Administration’ and to defend their assets. While your unit is on world, we would like for you to determine who’s court Director Shoga Leow’s fealty lies within, be it the ConMag, FWL, or even perhaps his own. If it’s anything other than the first one, we need you to engage Director Leow’s Planetary Militia forces and see what the Captain General sends to quell the disturbance. We would advise you to be prepared to make a tactical retreat in lieu of Marik dispatching an overwhelming force.

You meet your contact in a quaint unobtrusive restaurant named Mei Mei in the city of Grebuchin on the planet Ohrensen. You approach a small darkened booth and slide into the bench across from Sang-wei (Captain) Song Yongjia, the Maskirovka Operative. He begins with a heavily Mandarin Chinese accented English. First allow me to apologize for the clandestine meeting away from the Bargstedt government centers. But I assure you, that all is on the up and up. On this disk, he slides a holo-vid across the table to you, are all the credentials you’ll need to verify the legitimacy of my offer and hopefully it will garner to you some insight on the importance of the covert nature of our dealings. Song briefly glances to his right. Following his gaze you see nothing out of the ordinary. Three males at one table, a family, a couple, and a lone gentleman dressed in a dark hunter green hoodie silently sipping on a bowl of soup.
You were quite shrewd in the whole ‘Infrastructure Approach’ in garnering the good will of Director Shoga Lowe and gaining the confidence of the Triads to boot. Let me see, how can I put this . . . With your polishing you have made Ohrensen quite the ‘Diamond in the Rough’ I must say. We need this trend to continue even after your unit is long gone from this world in lieu of our imminent conquest.

Our operatives on world seem to believe that a conflict with the Militia is inevitable. We also see evidence of the Militia attempting to force the populace out of the boomtowns and work camps that you Mercenaries have established and that action will speed up the Free Worlds League intervention, hence; the Confederated Magistry will dispatch its own Counter Offensive.

You catch the Sang-wei (Captain) looking to his right again and ‘think’ you saw the hooded figure give him an ‘almost’, imperceptible nod.

With the favor that you currently curry with the Director, we need you to call an Ohrensen Planetary Council Conclave. We have it on good authority that the Council will proposition Eden’s Guard and the Rabid Wolves for extended protection. You should accept their offer. For the greater good of all involved. Rest assured that we will have men, Yes, more than just one, there in observance. Ohrensen is vastly becoming a pivotal world, due wholly to your ministrations, in this upcoming conflict. My superiors will not leave its fate up to Mercenaries alone. No offense.

The Triad Berkowitz Matriarch has been busy asking a plethora of questions and her agents have been performing extensive research uncovering sensitive information on just who the benefactor is behind the Guard's and Wolves’ activities. The old battleaxe is getting closer and closer to uncovering the truth, its only a matter of time before she snags the thread that will unravel the whole entire sordid mystery.

It is unfortunate the damage caused by elements of your command to Boluo City. There’s no reprimand forthcoming as we are certain that due to the stipend we extracted from your pay that it will not happen again. And please consider this contract an abhorrent failure if the situation on Ohrensen devolves into a typical Marik styled civil war. We need a functioning government if we are to take it over.

1) Ensure a ConMag takeover of Ohrensen
2) Maintain Government cohesion on Ohrensen

1) Prevent damage to the planet's profitable infrastructure
2) Ensure planetary development operations can continue uninterrupted under ConMag administration
