Rollis is the ancestral homeworld of House Rollis, and has been ruled by that family for centuries. The day to day administration of the world`s affairs is left to an elected High Council, though the current Prefect Rollis has final say on all military matters.

Although as of 3098 Rollis lacks a charging station, the planetary ruler of Rollis has been lobbying the Prefectorate to approve construction of at least one recharge station to help speed travel up between the Taurian Concordat and the Confederated Magistry however; its neighbors, Laconis and Brisbane, both posses recharging stations. Rollis does possess a small orbital repair facility for DropShips and small craft.

Rollis has three continents, Como, Spruce and Wright; the capital city, New Harmon, is on Como. Worthy of note is the equatorial island of Iskandia, which is the source of an unusual kind of wood noted for it's pungent aroma, strength and near impervious to fire. This wood commands high prices throughout the ConMag and, via the black market in the Federated Suns Capellan March. Another island of interest is Tucson, site of the open city of Freeport; located close to a dry lake bed used as a spaceport, with the tacit approval of the planetary ruler Freeport caters to prospectors and independent traders filtering through Rollis, as well as travelers to and from the Periphery looking to acclimatize en route to their final destination. Freeport more closely resembles a Periphery settlement than it does a large Successor State city.

System History
Originally settled by the Taurian Concordat, Rollis was one of a number of systems conquered by the Star League during the Reunification War and was effectively annexed by the Federated Suns, as of 2750. The Capellan Confederation conquered the system in turn during the 1st Succession War, and as at 3130 have retained control of it since.

3033 Update
In 3032, Chancellor Romano Liao ascended to the Celestial Throne. Opposition to her reign existed, though not for long. In 3033, Rollis attempted to cede from the Confederation and join the Taurian Concordat. There was no Capellan military response to the incident; instead, the eight members of the rebellious High Council of Rollis disappeared almost simultaneously. The new High Council decided it was in their own interests for Rollis to remain a Capellan world.

Prefect Melanie Rollis is the last member of the Rollis family, which has ruled their homeworld of Rollis for centuries. In the early 3040's, a raiding party from the Taurian Concordat attacked the world. The raid claimed the lives of all the family members except Melanie and her younger brother Maxwell, who died soon after from wounds he received during the attack.

When young Melanie took power, she vowed vengeance on those who killed her family. After learning the raid originated on the world of Laconis, Melanie immediately ordered the Rollis militia to attack. The raid on Laconis proved especially brutal and destructive, and Melanie made it clear to the Laconian Prime Minister, Harry Jagnon, that the attack was a retaliatory raid. Jagnon responded by hiring mercenaries to strike back at Rollis, establishing a lethal cycle of attrition that continues today.

At this point in time, the Kingston's Rangers were deployed across Yuris, Zanzibar and Rollis. The Rangers were at 75% of full strength, with 90% of their equipment featuring upgraded technology.

Socio-Industrial Levels:
Technological Development
Some advancement; poor educational systems; medical care at level of 21st-22nd century; microelectronics industry non-existent; some areas with higher rating possible, but privately run/held.
Industrialization Level
Some industrialization at level of mid-20th century; fusion reactors imported.
Raw Material Dependence
World/system must import much of its raw materials.
Industrial Output
World must import most of its heavy industrial and high-tech needs.
Agricultural Dependence
World has and environment producing most foods, but relies on some imports for food not capable of being grown.

In the aftermath of the Davion Invasion, Horus Creance, the Confederated Magistracy has shifted forces to meet Davion aggression. While the front has gotten smaller, the threat against our nation remains high. To ease the duties of our frontline units, ever victorious, planetary militia forces are receiving increased funding and some reserve units are being retrained.

The world of Rollis, bordering both the Federated Suns and the Taurian Concordat, as well as having access to the unclaimed worlds of the Periphery, is considered especially vulnerable. In light of the Concordat's recent taking of New Vanderberg, efforts must be taken to shore up the defenses of this critical border world.

Toward this end, two 'Mech Battalions of the Kingston's VCR have been rotated to Rollis. To keep these warriors sharp, you will take up station for a series of training maneuvers, acting as the OpFor. Considering your recent actions against the Confederated Magistracy, you should be familiar enough with Taurian tactics to emulate them.

Your liaison officer will assist in planning and running training

(True situation: The Kingston's Victoria Commonality Rangers were mauled badly by Davion RCTs during Operation: Horus Creance. They were rotated to Rollis to refit and rebuild. Warriors and equipment were hurriedly added to the unit to give the appearance they are at full strength however only first Battalion (stationed on Yuris) is in any shape for combat. A high percentage of second and third battalions are fresh from academies, some from accelerated graduation programs. They are green and a 'unit' in name only.)
